Blue Telescope, the interactive exhibit agency, has been recognized with a Bronze Muse Award for creating Beyond Rubik’s Cube: Tessellation Table.
Sponsored by the American Alliance of Museums, the 26th Annual Media & Technology Muse Awards celebrate scholarship, community, innovation, creativity, education, and inclusiveness.
Tessellation Table is an interactive multi-touch tabletop activity developed with Liberty Science Center for the travelling exhibit Beyond Rubik’s Cube. Tessellation Table lets visitors explore the geometry of patterns and tessellations. Museum guests are given an assortment of simple shapes which they can drag into the table and snap together to create more complex objects. If a shape can tessellate, it immediately does so by repeating itself across the table’s surface. If visitors discover hidden shapes, colorful animations and images of tessellations found in everyday life are launched across the full table.
The partnership between Blue Telescope and Liberty Science Center garnered glowing enthusiasm from LSC’s Exhibitions Development Lead Liza Reich Rawson who commented, “Blue Telescope’s high standards, integrity and desire for excellence matches our own, and results in work of the highest caliber”.
Blue Telescope uses technology, storytelling, and design to create engaging interactive exhibits and live events. From multi-touch and mobile apps to games, quizzes, and social interactives, we develop innovative solutions using the latest technology to build traffic and deliver brand messages.
