Blue Telescope, the interactive exhibit agency, has been honored with three 2016 Summit Creative Awards. Over the past 22 years, the Summit International Awards organization has established itself as one of the premier arbiters of creative excellence. Blue Telescope was honored from a base of over 5,000 submissions from 21 countries in this year’s competition.
In the “Health/Medicine Interactive Media” category, SADIE Injection Simulator was honored with a Gold Award. The interactive activity uses a combination of a life sized arm mannequin, a working syringe, and custom software which shows a realtime 3-D view of the syringe and the arm’s interior musculature as the user practices injection. The result is designed to educate doctors in treatment techniques for upper limb spasticity.
Recognized with Silver Awards were Cells of Your Body and Immune Cell Army, a pair of interactive multi-touch tabletop activities developed for the Konya Science Center in Konya, Turkey. Cells of Your Body teaches visitors about the building blocks of the human body by challenging them to match microscopic images of human cells with a representation of the corresponding matching body system. Immune Cell Army is an action game which requires players to block incoming pathogen avatars with the correct immune cell before it can cross the table to the user’s station, educating visitors about vaccines and antibiotics.
Blue Telescope uses technology and design to craft immersive experiences that blend hands-on interaction with media spectacle.
