Dynamic Wall is an iconic installation at the Museum of Mathematics designed to illustrate complex mathematical functions through a kinetic, undulating wall.
Located at the entrance to the museum, the exhibit features 128 thin panels stretching 12 feet high. Each panel is motorized at its top and base, enabling it to tilt back and forth at any variety of angles. The wall can visualize mathematical formulae and data in mechanical animations across its entire 24-foot wide span.
Blue Telescope’s custom control software precisely synchronizes all 256 motors with networked command streams. A front-end module lets software developers script their own animated sequences using a 3D pre-visualization simulator. Museum staff can schedule the wall to cycle through a series of algorithms throughout the day.
